2011 marked the fiftieth anniversary of the Potomac Curling Club. To honor that significant milestone we had numerous celebrations throughout the season but our first order of business was to design our anniversary pin.
Available for sale during the 2010-2011 curling season only, this will be a limited edition pin, and once they’re gone – then they’re gone forever. No more will be minted.
We held a pin design contest in April and May of 2010. Twenty four entries were received, and the number was reduced by a committe to eight candidates, then the general membership voted. When all was said and done, votes cast and tallied, Doug Barbour submitted the winning design. There was, however, a close contender. Pete Morelewicz submitted the humorous “Washington Swept Here” design, and was awarded an honorable mention. Look for George’s image on t-shirts, coffee mugs etc. in the fall. Congratulations to the winning designer(s)!
