TEAM
LANGANKE WINS 2003 INAUGURAL BONSPIEL-
Team Langanke of Plainfield Curling Club went
undefeated at the 2003 Inaugural Bonspiel, held
October 23-26
at the National Capitol
Curling Center, to claim the top spot. Skipped
by Janice
Langanke, the team of Bill Peskoff (Vice), Don
Baird (Second), and Steve Langanke (Lead) faced
off in
the First Event final against the St. Georges
team, skipped
by Gilles Hamel, from St. Georges Golf & Country
Club in Ontario, Canada.
The
4-day event featured 32 teams from all over the East
Coast and Canada. Throughout the weekend's curling
there were other social events
and merrymaking such as the Team Pumpkin Carving
contest won by the C.H.A.P.P.S team, a raffle, and
the California
Recall event featuring new rules to curling based
on the recent events in California politics.
