The Potomac Curling Club of the National Capital Curling Center provides curling instruction and competition for youth from elementary-age through middle and high school. The Youth Program is divided into two separate age-group sessions that meet most Sunday afternoons from late October through late March.

We have available a generic Youth Curling Information Sheet, and a Junior Curling Calendar, and a Middle Rockers Calendar. All three are pdf files.

Our Middle Rocker Program offers curling for youngsters who are more comfortable with our lighter-weight middle rocks. Our Middle Rockers include both elementary and middle school students. The Middle Rockers meet on Sundays from 12:30 – 2:00 pm. These youths are given age-appropriate instruction and participate in short games and graduated full-sheet competition.

Our Junior Program primarily works with teens in middle and high school, throwing regular-weight rocks. The Juniors meet on Sundays from 2:00 – 4:30 pm. These youth receive varied levels of instruction and participate in regular match play.

Drop in to give curling a try? The first day of Youth Curling for drop-in kids and teens is FREE! A parent or guardian must sign a Release of Liability form before any youth is permitted out on the ice. Suggested clothing include clean and dry rubber-soled shoes (such as sneakers), layers of warm clothing (such as light jackets and sweaters), and thin, warm gloves.

Sign up – Remember to bring a signed Release of Liability form to your first session. If you enjoyed that session and would like to join us for a half or full season, bring a completed Membership Registration form and payment with you to your next session. Good Curling!

Volunteer – One of the best ways to help the Youth Curling Program is on the ice instructing or, in the case of the youngest curlers, keeping the sessions flowing smoothly. Please visit the club's *Volunteers page to sign up* to help out on the ice with either of our Youth Curling Sessions. We need approximately 6 volunteers each week for Middle Rockers and 8 volunteers per week for the Juniors. Sign up for one week or several. Many thanks in advance for all your help and support.

Join the mail list - It's specific to the youth program, and moderated by Emily Aubin. Details are on the mailing list page.
