Breakfast League - Saturday Mornings

League Coordinators: Brian Galebach & Charlene Macedo

What is the "Breakfast League"? It's the creation of Neil and Brian, who are very enthusiastic about curling, and about eating breakfast! The Breakfast League is the first-ever league with a special "cuisine coordinator". Neil has moved on and the "cuisine coordinator" role has been assumed by Charlene Macedo. Charlene also is coordinator of the daytime curling league!.

We encourage people to bring their own team if possible (ideal for teams getting ready to go to bonspiels, etc.).  So if you bring a team, you can play as a team.  But if you drop in individually, you can then join a team.  So both teams and individuals are highly welcome!

Here is your chance to give curling a try! We welcome new curlers to come and give it a try on Saturday mornings from 8:15 to 11:30. Try to arrive by 8:15 so we can get you equipped with sliders etc. Wear warm, loose fitting clothes and clean flat soled shoes. Sneakers are OK. A release will be needed, and it is available here or at the club. Yes, introductory instruction will be provided, as will all necessary equipment. The best part of the morning is when you decide (and I'm sure you will) that you like curling, you are more than welcome to stay and play in a league game for a nominal donation. New curlers will be mixed with more experienced curlers. This provides further instructional opportunities (coaching, not screaming except for perhaps "sweep hard") and helps avoid frustration on the first time out.

For the "Drop In" curlers, we will be following our priority procedure where everyone will be assured the opportunity to be able to play either all or part of the game.  Members, and those who show up and sign in earliest, are given higher preference to play the most ends. We encourage you to come with friends as a small group, with "small" being the operative word. If you wish to bring the friends and neighbors and co-workers and have 10 or 20 people, then you are talking about a rental, not a small group for drop-in curling.

New, later League Format:
7:45 - Doors open, begin sign-in, ice prep
8:15 - 9:00 am – Instruction period
8:45 am – Breakfast is served
9:00 - 9:30 am – Teams are formed, practice ice
9:30 - 11:30 am – Play 8-end game
