What is the Saturday Morning Breakfast Extravaganza?
The Saturday Morning Breakfast Extravaganza is curling for new and experienced curlers, club members and non-members, with ad hoc team formation the day of play. The emphasis is on providing a fun, social time for all participants. Individuals, couples, and small groups are welcome. We provide instruction for guests, then serve breakfast, and then curl–it’s an Extravaganza!
Advance registration is required.
Only 32 curlers can be accommodated, so members and non-members must register online to reserve a spot. Registration for a given Saturday opens at midnight Wednesday morning ten days prior to that Saturday.
If the roster for a given Saturday is filled, then you may wish to continue checking the registration page for openings — openings often become available from canceled registrations, even as late as the night before the curling date. Occasionally openings become available from no-shows on Saturday morning or from last-minute cancellations. You may want to try your luck filling a no-show spot by coming to the curling center Saturday morning; however, there is no guarantee that a spot will be available.
Never curled before? This is your opportunity to give curling a try!
We welcome new curlers! For a $20 fee, guests will receive about an hour of instruction and practice, and will then be assigned to a team for a game after breakfast. Teams will consist of new and experienced curlers, and will be formed by the league coordinator during breakfast. We will do our best to accommodate requests for pairing with (or against!) spouses and friends.
Please arrive by 7:45 am so we can get you signed in and fitted with grippers. Wear warm, layered, loose fitting clothes and clean, flat-soled shoes. Sneakers and tennis shoes are ideal. Non-flat-sole shoes are unsafe on the ice and are not permitted.
A signed Liability Release Form is required for participation. Download our Liability Release Forms (pdf), or fill one out when you arrive at the club. The youth form must be signed by the youth’s parent or legal guardian.
If you have a group of eight or more, then you may wish to consider a club rental. Rentals include use of our warm room, kitchen, all equipment, instruction and guided play — and there is no worry about getting everyone registered before all the guest slots are filled! Please see our club rental page for more information.
On-ice instruction will be provided for all new curlers. Advanced instruction is almost always available (on request) for curlers with any level of experience.
