Welcome to Juniors!

Our Junior Program is primarily designed for youth in middle school and high school, but does include some college-age curlers (must be under age 21 by June 30, 2015). Several of our older Juniors have competed regionally, nationally and internationally, and provide both inspiration and role models for our younger curlers. Juniors meet on Sundays from 2:00 – 4:30 pm, per the Juniors Program Calendar. They receive varied levels of instruction, participate in regular match play, and may opt to obtain more curling experience through bonspiels, league play and competitive curling.

The Potomac Junior Bonspiel will take place this year on the weekend of November 6-8, 2015. All Potomac Juniors are encouraged to participate in this fun tournament, which attracts teams from a number of curling clubs in the GNCC, our East-Coast region. Click here to register. This year,  GNCC Junior Playdowns will be held from December 28, 2015 – January 3, 2016 at the Broomstones Curling Club in Boston, MA. This is our regional youth curling championship.

Just as teams often travel from a distance to play at Potomac, our Juniors may also choose to attend “away bonspiels” at other curling clubs. Potomac Juniors may seek assistance from The White Family Fund for Junior Curlers, which was established to help defray the costs associated with some of these events, and to  encourage our Juniors to compete.

Learn more about our Juniors program by downloading the Youth Curling Program Information Sheet. You can also contact one of our Coordinators and Coaches, if you have specific questions. Once you have reviewed this information and are ready to join, Click here for the Junior Membership Form and follow the instructions.

We look forward to seeing you on the ice very soon!
