That’s right, it’s time to grab your irons and hit the links.
The 2012 PCC Summer Golf Outing will be at the Needwood Golf Course in Derwood, MD just east of the Rockville/Gaithersburg border.
This will be a “scramble” tournament. In a scramble format, all players tee off, choose which shot is best and all play their next shots from the location of the best shot. Play continues in this fashion for all of the 18 holes. This is often times referred to as a best ball tournament, which would be erroneous.
The cost of the festivities will amount to $75.00 and includes the following:
- the round of golf (low score not guaranteed)
- a nice cart to haul your butt around in
- a bucket of range balls so you can leave every good shot you had on the range
- food at the turn (dog, chips and soda)
- a sleeve of Titlest DT golf balls with the PCC Golf Tournament and Date printed on them (don’t use these on the water holes)
The after party will be at Casa Lawrence (which is conveniently located just 2.5 miles from the course in beautiful downtown Derwood) where food and drinks will be had by all until you leave or we run out of said food and beverages, whichever comes first.
We will have the standard contests on the course consisting of the longest drive and the closest to the pin and will be awarding prizes for those as well as the winning team.
This is a golf tournament for the members of the curling club so please try to put your group together using members first before reaching out to others. If you want to play and don’t have a group, please sign up by contacting Mark we’ll put a group together for you.
Don’t play full-sized golf but still want to join your fellow curlers for some fun? Try some mini-golf!
